The occupiers of Crimea started issuing warrants on the church of the Orthodox Church of Ukraine in Yevpatoria alleging its illegal construction and requiring to demolish it. Archbishop Yevstratiy (Zorya) of Chernihiv and Nizhyn of the Orthodox Church of Ukraine said this to UNN.

“Recently, in Yevpatoria, they began issuing orders about the church alleging it was illegally built and therefore should be demolished,” he said.

According to the archbishop, the situation of the religious communities and churches of the OCU in Crimea remains stable, as the actions of the occupation authorities are unpredictable.

“The situation remains steadily difficult and at any moment may deteriorate because for the Russian authorities, even their own laws do not matter. If they make any decision, it will implement it in spite of laws or some international rules and obligations,” added the archbishop.
