The two main areas of activities of Russian intelligence services today are incitement of inter-confessional enmity caused by the possibility of the reception of the Tomos by Ukraine, as well as active measures to involve Ukraine's leadership in serving Russian interests.

The two main areas of activities of Russian intelligence services today are incitement of inter-confessional enmity caused by the possibility of the reception of the Tomos by Ukraine, as well as active measures to involve Ukraine's leadership in serving Russian interests.

This was stated by the SBU deputy head Victor Kononenko during a briefing, a correspondent of UNN reports. SBU is a national security service of Ukraine

“The above facts are only part of a unified plan implemented by the Russian Federation special services on the territory of Ukraine. The purpose is to create a so-called controlled chaos. The two main directions to date are to fuel the inter-confessional enmity caused by the possibility of granting the Tomos to Ukraine, as well as to organize an active influence with the aim of the so-called coercion of Ukraine's leadership to serve the interests of the aggressor State and initiate peaceful negotiations on favorable terms,” Kononenko said.

In the first case, the SBU expects staging of seizure of one of the denominations, allegedly by representatives of right-wing nationalist organizations, and subsequently staging of violent clashes and protests with participation of the faithful.

The second case, the SBU representative noted, involves inspiring rallies and protests, submission of petitions and appeals to state authorities with the requirement to restore peace at all costs.
