Metropolitan Pavlo (Lebed), Vicar of the Kyiv-Pechersk Lavra, asks to protect him and the Ukrainian Orthodox Church (Moscow Patriarchate) from the pressure exerted by the State because of a photo with Vladimir Putin that he posted during the exhibition at the monastery, Religiyna Pravda reports citing trident-ua. Info.

It was reported that a photo with President of the Russian Federation Vladimir Putin was seen at the exhibition at the Kyiv-Pechersk Lavra. The exhibit was dedicated to the Day of Baptism of Rus-Ukraine.

“The public was outraged spreading this information through social networks and information resources. As a result, the photos were quickly removed and they pretended to be fully unaware of their existence and presence at the exhibition,” goes the message.

By the way, the exhibition was approved by the management of the reserve and the Ministry of Culture.

In addition to the transfer of guilt to the management of the reserve, the newspaper writes, Bishop Pavel sends letters to ambassadors of other states asking for help.

In them, he asks to protect him and the Church from the pressure of the State for exhibiting the Putin photo.

“Dear Ambassador, I kindly request you to inform the leadership of your State about these unprecedented facts of violation of the Constitution and the Laws of Ukraine which guarantee freedom of conscience and provide for the separation of the Church from the State,” His Eminence Pavlo wrote.

Obviously, there was a reason for Metropolitan Pavlo to turn to the Hungarian Ambassador.

Now Ukraine and Hungary are in a state of diplomatic war. After the law on education adopted in our country which significantly expands the use of the Ukrainian language in school education, Budapest called this law a violation of the rights of national minorities to study their mother tongue and urged Kyiv to amend it.

Later the Hungarian government said they would block all the Euro-Atlantic aspirations of Ukraine.
