Public Prosecutor of Kyiv Asked to Check Legitimacy of Construction of Tithe Church

The Our Ukraine party sent a deputy address to the Office of the Public Prosecutor of the city of Kyiv with a request to check the legitimacy of the construction activity near the foundation of the Tithe Church in Kyiv on the territory of the State Historic and Architectural Reserve Ancient Kyiv.

The press service of the party reported to comments.ua that the address was sent by the head of the party group of Our Ukraine in the parliament, deputy Zinovii Shkutiak.

"Our Ukraine demands that any construction in the place of the Tithe Church should be immediately stopped and information should be provided as to the basis on which the construction is being executed and as to the customers and contractors," reads the address. 

Representatives of Our Ukraine stress that the Ukrainian and international law directly prohibit any construction on the territory of authentic historic monuments. The so-called reproduction of the Tithe Church is a direct violation of the norms of international law on the protection of monuments.
