The papal legate had the opportunity to talk with military chaplains about the difficulties and needs in the ​​ATO zone and thanked the priests for their service in the East of Ukraine. "You are the workers for world. Going to a war zone, you are bringing peace!” said the Apostolic Nuncio in his address to chaplains.

At the end of the IX Congress of Ukrainian military chaplains of the UGCC, the participants were visited by the Apostolic Nuncio Archbishop Claudio Gugerotti.

The papal legate had the opportunity to talk with military chaplains about the difficulties and needs in the ​​ATO zone and thanked the priests for their service in the East of Ukraine. "You are the workers for world. Going to a war zone, you are bringing peace!” said the Apostolic Nuncio in his address to chaplains.

As it was previously reported, IX Ukrainian Congress of military chaplains of the UGCC was held in Kyiv from December 14 to 17. The congress was opened by His Beatitude Sviatoslav, Head of the UGCC. During four days the Central House of Officers of the Armed Forces of Ukraine and in the Patriarchal Cathedral of the Resurrection of Christ in Kyiv hosted the events organized by the Department of the Patriarchal Curia of the Ukrainian Greek Catholic Church for Pastoral Care of the Armed Forces of Ukraine with participation of public authorities.

During the Hierarchical Divine Liturgy, His Beatitude Sviatoslav conferred the first patriarchal award military in the history of the UGCC – the Military Chaplain Cross on the chaplains who performed their pastoral mission in the combat zone. Every day the Congress was opened by the Hierarchical Divine Liturgy in the Cathedral. Military chaplains were trained in tactical medicine and attended the preparation lectures of the Defense Ministry of Ukraine to perform duties of a chaplain in a combat zone and the lectures on post-war rehabilitation.

The X Jubilee Ukrainian Congress of military chaplains of the UGCC will be held next year in Kyiv. It will be preceded by regular training for military chaplains for the purpose of their further education and rehabilitation after the service in ATO zone.
