Patriarch Filarat blessed three ambulances for Ukrainian Army and awarded volunteers

фІЛАРЕТ.jpgOn Tuesday, January 27, at St. Michael Monastery head of the Ukrainian Orthodox Church of Kyiv Patriarchate, Patriarch Filaret blessed and sent to the front three ambulances with medical equipment. He also gave the church awards "For sacrifice and love for Ukraine" to military and volunteers.

The ambulances were purchased in France, and soon will go to the front. Money were collected by parishioners of the  parish UOC of Kyiv Patriarchate in Cleveland, USA led by fr. Bogdan Timoshenko. The total cost of cars is 20 thousand USD.

"When someone talks about injustice in fightings in the East, I would like to remind you that the situation was wrong from the beginning. Some people decided to declare the territory their property and take it by force. But we know that God is on our side for we have the truth on our side, and we will win "- said the patriarch.

Volunteers also gave more than ten wheelchairs. They will soon be sent to Mariupol through the Department of Social Ministry of the UOC-KP.

One of the volunteers Ihor Prystupa thanked the Patriarch for help and stressed that such equipment is missing on the front. He added that in the coming days ambulances will serve wounded and injured.

The Patriarch awarded church volunteers and military with the medals "For the sacrifice and love for Ukraine". One of the medals will be given to Vasyl Matvienko. He is WWII veteran and former Soviet political who decided to give all his savings to help the Ukrainian army.
