“We are grateful today to the German Episcopal Conference, which, a quarter of century ago, brought Renovabis to life. Recognizing the need and importance of supporting the faithful of the Catholic Church and, in general, Christians who have suffered heavy oppression and persecution of the Communist regime in the past century, the hierarchs decided to set up a charitable organization,” the text of gratitude goes. The UGCC thanks the foundation for its support and solidarity in the times of its departure from the catacombs and the beginning of the rebirth of the structure of the UGCC and pastoral ministry.

The Head of the UGCC also thanked the chief and employees of Renovabis, the past ones and those who carry out the noble mission of the Fund today, and thousands of Catholics in Germany, our faithful brothers and sisters, who, through prayers and generous donations, for over 25 years supported Renovabis, promoting the development of the Catholic Church in the post-Soviet space.

The Head of the UGCC awarded Joachim Zauer with a separate certificate on this occasion. “Your long-term work at Renovabis has yielded a lot of fruit. By showing fraternal love for Ukraine, you have done a lot to her and really became one of us. Through your frequent visits, support of our projects and sincere friendship, you show that the fate of our Church and the Ukrainian people is close and important to you,” the certificate states.
