During the first Mass of 2018 in the Vatican, prayer intentions were voiced in Ukrainian

On the first day of the New Year, 2018, at 10:00 AM Roman time, the Ecumenical Hierarch, Pope Francis led the Mass at the Basilica of Holy Apostle Peter, starting the New Year with God's blessing for the whole world, and also celebrating the 51st World Peace Day that is devoted to migrants and refugees this year.

During the Holy Mass in Ukrainian, a prayerful intention for the poor and needy was said in Ukrainian: “May the Lord, through the intercession of the holy angels, visit them with His consolation and fill them with the fullness of His gifts.”

Sister Teresa Bezpalko from the Congregation of the Servants of the Immaculate Virgin Mary read the prayerful intention. It was reported by Radio Vatican.
