| Recognition by Greek Church and "domino effect"
A few days ago, the Church media were glued to the monitors, waiting for the long-awaited decision of the Synod of the Greek Church to appear. It concerned the recognition of the Orthodox Church of Ukraine. Although ten days ago, no one was particularly waiting for crucial decisions at the August session. Everyone is waiting for October -- it is then that the Synod of the Hierarchy (Council of Bishops in our terminology) will take place in accordance with the Charter of the Orthodox Church of Greece. The meeting of all the bishops, and they are now more than 140 in the Church of Greece, is still a more presentable event than the usual Synod of 12 Metropolitans. It is the Synod of Hierarchy, as a more representative body, that must decide on recognition of the OCU.

In the context of recent events in the Orthodox world, disputes over the boundaries of church institutions often arise between the Patriarchate of Constantinople, Kyiv and Moscow. Ukraine accuses Russia of misappropriating the territory of the Kyiv Metropolis. In its turn, Moscow appeals to the fact that the ancient Kyiv Metropolis differs from the territory of modern Ukraine. RISU decided to clarify this topic, getting advice from historians. Based on this research, we prepared an infographic.

Ukrainian Greek Catholic bishops to have private audience with pope Francis in Rome
Permanent Synod of the Ukrainian Greek Catholic Church will hold a meeting with Pope Francis on Saturday, 5 March.

Archbishop-emeritus of the Ukrainian Greek Catholic Church, Patriarch Lyubomyr (Husar) made a statement at a briefing while opening of the exhibition "Toward the Light of Resurrection through the thorns of the catacombs", Ukrinform reports.
"Permanent Synod, ie the six bishops who now reside in Rome, tomorrow on Saturday, to meet with the Holy Father" Husar said.
Recall that on February 12 in Cuban capital of Havana the first ever meeting of Pope and Patriarch of Moscow was held, as a result of which the head of the Catholic Church Francis and the Patriarch of Moscow Kirill signed a joint declaration. The themes of the declaration related to the evaluation of the events in Ukraine caused a powerful reaction both in Ukraine and among the Ukrainians in other countries.

Martin Bramley, 4 March 2016, 19:16: (1) "The Clown of Rome - Francis, has Damaged the Entire Catholic Church", (2) "There SHOULD be a Patriarchate status awarded to the Church"- (1) Unfortunately it seems to be a bitter reality, (2) Patriarchate status is not a solution. The understanding of the reality should be awarded to the Church.
I - as a Latin Rite Catholic Fully Empathise at every level with the Ukrainian Greek Catholic Church. There SHOULD be a Patriarchate status awarded to the Church. The Clown of Rome - Francis, has Damaged the Entire Catholic Church. Like those scurrilous popes before him, he Thinks MORE about InterFaith relationships - no matter the Price, than about his Own flock, of whatever tradition or rite - eg the Ukrainian Greek Catholic Church. Moscow - an historical Enemy of Catholicism, whether Latin or Greek in tradition. Moscow must be well Pleased with the Clown of Rome indeed.
