| Recognition by Greek Church and "domino effect"
A few days ago, the Church media were glued to the monitors, waiting for the long-awaited decision of the Synod of the Greek Church to appear. It concerned the recognition of the Orthodox Church of Ukraine. Although ten days ago, no one was particularly waiting for crucial decisions at the August session. Everyone is waiting for October -- it is then that the Synod of the Hierarchy (Council of Bishops in our terminology) will take place in accordance with the Charter of the Orthodox Church of Greece. The meeting of all the bishops, and they are now more than 140 in the Church of Greece, is still a more presentable event than the usual Synod of 12 Metropolitans. It is the Synod of Hierarchy, as a more representative body, that must decide on recognition of the OCU.

Head of the Ukrainian Greek Catholic Church to Nuncio: "We are grateful that in this difficult time the Holy Father is together with the suffering people of Ukraine."
January 28 after the Hierarchical Divine Liturgy in the church of the Holy Eucharist in Lviv on the occasion of the 25th anniversary of the first Catholic school in Ukraine - Sheptytsky Gymnasium, in which the Apostolic Nuncio in Ukraine, Archbishop Claudio Gugerotti took part, head of the Ukrainian Greek Catholic Church Sviatoslav Shevchuk thanked Nuncio and Holy Father that "in this difficult time the Holy Father is together with the suffering people of Ukraine.
"You as his messenger attended even those places where our bishops can not get to accomplish their pastoral ministry [meaning territories of Donetsk and Luhansk regions temporarily under control of Russia-backed militants, RISU]. To the parishes in Donetsk and Luhansk, over which we have a duty to care, a hand of the Church reached through your visit”, said the patriarch.
He also thanked the Pope himself: “Through you, I would like to express our love and loyalty to the Holy Father, and that unity which was sealed by the blood of martyrs and confessors of the Ukrainian Greek Catholic Church of the XX century. And believe me, no political conjuncture or geopolitical games will never break this unity sealed with the blood of martyrs. So may the Lord bless you in your mission and send you the Holy Spirit", he UGCC information department informs.

1) Що є неправдивого у наведених мною історичних фактах? 2) Єпископ Степан мав право виїхати з Донецька у 2014 р. тільки якщо загрожували смертю його парафіянам в разі, якщо він не виїде. Якщо загрожували йому особисто, він не мав права покидати Донецьк, але мав обов'язок прийняти смерть. 3) Через те, що глава УГКЦ та інші єпископи їздять по "зоні АТО", благословляючи бійців ЗСУ, в такий спосіб замість пастирських чеснот, демонструючи суто політичну позицію, яку вони не мають права демонструвати, вони наражають на небезпеку смерті парафіян УГКЦ в Луганську і Донецьку, і несуть повну відповідальність за страждання і смерті їхніх людей по обидві сторони фронту. 4) Якщо мене висвятять у єпископа і оберуть главою УГКЦ з належними правами і обов'язками, наступного дня поїду в Донецьк і Луганськ зупиняти війну і встановлювати мир. Шевчука і Менька серед єпископів не буде.
А просто так - у якості пересічного волонтера? Що - слабо?!
Шевчук, як ніхто інший, ЗОБОВ'ЯЗАНИЙ відвідати Луганськ, де він служив у радянському війську у ВВАУШ (Вище Ворошиловградське Авіаційне Училище Штурманів). http://risu.org.ua/ua/index/all_news/community/faith_and_weapon/48131/ 15 травня 2012 р. у рамках візиту до Донецько-Харківського Екзархату він відвідав Луганськ. Після зустрічі з парафіянами Шевчук відвідав військову частину, в якій проходив службу, де його зустріли працівники санітарної частини колишнього авіаційного училища, в якому він служив. Військовослужбовці вручили предстоятелю УГКЦ подарунок – ікону Пресвятої Богородиці та особливу відзнаку – ветеранську медаль частини. Того ж дня Шевчук зустрівся із мером Луганська, Сергієм Кравченком, та заступником губернатора Луганської області, Едуардом Лозовським. На зустрічах з владою предстоятель УГКЦ піднімав тему виділення земельних ділянок для громад УГКЦ, підкресливши важливість толерантності і рівності у вирішенні конфесійних питань. Він також запевняв представників влади у своїй молитві за всі добрі справи їхніх рук. Тому, маючи такий аргумент, як служба в Луганську і також досвід спілкування з місцевою аладою, він ЗОБОВ'ЯЗАНИЙ відвідати Луганськ заради припинення війни. - "Це є приклад отого такого живого спілкування, воно в тих регіонах теж є потрібне. Тому я думаю, що наша присутність повинна бути разом з ними, а не проти них. І тоді багато речей самі собою мають зникнути" - казав глава УГКЦ, Святослав Шевчук у 2012 р.
А Ви, шановний Fr. Valerii, вже відвідали цей регіон? Чи тільки збираєтеся?
Я буду тут дуже нетолерантним, бо хочеться відповідати не словесно, а фізично. Я розумію весь цинізм цього запитання. Бо легко тут брехати і маніпулювати словесами - а поїдьте і покажіть приклад. Якби єпископат УГКЦ міг хоча би так, як нунцій, відвідати окуповані території, то вони були там би неодноразово. Єпископ Степан мусів виїжджати звідти через прямі погрози. Інші єпископи, коли відвідують території близькі до окупованих - навіть не анонсують публічно про це. Бо існує пряма загроза агресії щодо них. Тому будь ласка не викликайте проти себе справедливої агресії!
Так, разом iз страждаючими Украiни, без огляду на iх мicце проживання, не роздiляючи украiнський народ на патрiотичну та сепаратистську партii. Займае, по сутi, ту саму позицiю, що й УПЦ. Знаходячись при цьому у кращому становищi (адже правду легше казати, коли знаеш, що тебе за неi не забажають колишнi вiряни вiщати "на гiлляку"). I споглядаючи у перспективи майбутнього, оскiльки вдячнi жителi ЛДНР колись можуть вiддячити вiрою i правдою.

"Він [нунцій] також висловив вдячність самому Папі: «На ваші руки складаємо свідчення синівської любові і відданості Святішому Отцеві, тої єдності, яку запечатали своєю кров’ю мученики і сповідники нашої Церкви XX століття." І в цих словах виражена вся ПРАВДИВА сутність католицизму. Тобто, що вірні цієї Церкви дійсно: виховуються в "синівській любові і відданості" єпископу Риму - абсолютно-тоталітарному й "безпомильному" (в питаннях віри й моралі) "наміснику Бога на землі", по суті, навіть більше, ніж... Самому Христу (!) І заради цієї "любові і відданості" цій - насправді недосконалій і (з природи) грішній - ЛЮДИНІ немало з них дійсно: нерідко свідомо-фанатично йшли на великі випробовування й страждання - і аж до мученицької смерті...
