International Conference on Integration of religious and ethnic minorities in Eastern Europe to be held in September
The event will last 2 days, starting its work on 13 September in Uzhgorod and continuing it the next day in Mukachevo, Zakarpattya.online reports. This was discussed during a meeting of Uzhgorod Mayor Bohdan Andriyiv and representatives of the Konrad Adenauer Foundation in Hungary and Ukraine – Moritz Junginger, Frank Spengler, Daniel Grozner, Vladimir Leyzle, Olena Day and Yulia Skok, who came to the regional center of Transcarpathian region with a study visit. As noted the guests, taking part in the conference will be representatives of local ethnic minorities (Germans constituted the majority, Hungarians, Slovaks and Romanians), the conference will also be attended by representatives of the Ukrainian government and parliament and experts from Germany. The conference, according to German visitors, will bring Ukraine closer to the European Union, European values, as Uzhgorod and Mukachevo, and Transcarpathian region as a whole that is multinational, are a good example of tolerant coexistence of different nationalities.
