The Monastery of the Exaltation of the Holy Cross in Chevetogne, Belgium, was founded in 1925. This Catholic monastic community lives according to two rites — Latin and Byzantine. The monastery sees its vocation in promoting the unity of Christians — Catholics, Orthodox, and Protestants. Metropolitan Andrey Sheptytsky played a particular role in its foundation.

Experts discuss diaspora churches in America
Among the events at a conference entitled “Celebrating the 125th Anniversary of the Organized Ukrainian American Community” was a panel of speakers on “The Ukrainian American Community and Religious Life.” Prominently placed near the beginning of the day-long program held at the Princeton Club in New York City last Saturday, September 21, the morning panel was chaired by Andrew Sorokowski representing RISU.

| Konstantin Gerbrich (Germany): Christians of Europe must be active to convey true values
The 30th anniversary Colloquium of European Parishes (CEP), held in Lviv on July 27 — August 1 (first time in Ukraine), brought together clergy and laity from different parts of Europe. The participants shared experience in the life of their parishes and discussed pressing issues. Among them were ten young people from different countries: Italy, Romania, Germany, Malta. The young people who came to Ukraine to discuss with 150 participants "Who will help us to be Christians in modern Europe?" are for the most part very active in their cities, parishes, social activities.

XXX Colloquium of European parishes in Lviv ended with a Party of Nations
The Party of Nations united various national cultures at the XXX Colloquium of European Parishes in Lviv on its final day. During three working days of the Colloquium, the participants listened to informative reports, discussed them in working groups, got acquainted with the life of the UGCC and the challenges it faces in this difficult time for Ukraine, visited parishes and saw how they live. There were many discoveries, sincere amazement and even small but so bright miracles.

Israeli and Ukrainian media report fake anti-Semitic ‘pogrom’ in Ukraine
On 11 January 2020, the Israeli publication Yeshiva World News posted a supposed news report under the shocking title “POGROM IN UMAN OVER SHABBOS: Ukrainian Thugs Attack Jews, 4 Evacuated To Hospitals”. There was no pogrom, yet within hours ‘the story’ had been repeated as though it were established fact by other Israeli, Ukrainian and Russian media. Very few have posted updated texts, explaining that the information had proven false, and some of those who reported the police statement debunking the claims still kept the same catchy – and misleading – titles.
