Dmytro Lubinets, the Commissioner for Human Rights of the Verkhovna Rada, emphasizes that in Ukraine, all believers have the right to security, protection, and the free expression of their convictions.

As reported by Ukrinform, Lubinets wrote about this in his Telegram channel on World Religion Day.

As the Commissioner emphasized, the rights of believers in Ukraine are protected by law.

"The religious issue, in the conditions of Russia's armed aggression against our country, has become one of the enemy's tools – the occupier constantly uses this topic to destabilize the situation in Ukraine," Lubinets noted.

"However, today, on World Religion Day, I want to remind you: The Ombudsman's Office is standing up for the rights of believers. Every citizen, regardless of their religious affiliation, has the right to security, protection, the free expression of their convictions, and freedom of religion," emphasized the Commissioner for Human Rights.

He also stressed that "it is important for us now to ensure special protection for religious sites, and those guilty of violating the law must be held accountable."

As reported, World Religion Day is annually observed on the third Sunday of January under the initiative of the United Nations. The purpose of the holiday is to promote the idea of unity of spiritual principles of different religions, contribute to interreligious understanding and tolerance, and spread the humanistic philosophy of religion as a unifying factor that integrates rather than divides people.
