ROC hopes "Church persecution to end" after Zelensky’s victory

The Russian Orthodox Church congratulated Volodymyr Zelensky on winning the presidential election in Ukraine. The greetings were made public by the Head of the Department of External Church Relations of the Russian Orthodox Church, Metropolitan Hilarion on his Facebook page, reports Channel 112.

“I congratulate Volodymyr Zelensky on a bright and convincing victory. I pray for the persecution of the Church to stop, so that peace reigns in Ukraine that is dear to my heart, and Poroshenko gets what he deserves,” he wrote.
