On November 8 Patriarch Filaret of the Ukrainian Orthodox Church-Kyivan Patriarchate, accompanied by Metropolitan Anthony of Khmelnytsky and Kamyanets-Podilsky, the first rector of the Kyiv Orthodox Theological Academy archpriest Oleksandr Trofymlyuk, professor Dmytro Stepovyk, and journalist from Ukrainian radio station Channel 1 Nina Shavarska departed from Kyiv to the United States.

On the second day of his archpastoral visit to the U.S., Patriarch Filaret gave a two-hour interview to one of Hollywood's biggest TV channels. The content will be used to make documentary.

Then the delegation of the Kyivan Patriarchate visited St. Volodymyr’s Cathedral in New York (Ukrainian Orthodox Church in the USA) at the invitation of the church’s council, and in particular of Yuriy Fedoriv.

Patriarch Filaret also visited the Ukrainian Orthodox Holy Ascension Church in Clifton, where in concelebrated with Metropolitan Anthony and archpriest Oleksandr Trofymlyuk, the church’s pastor archpriest Oleh Zhownirovych, and many priests of the Vicariate of the Kyivan Patriarchate in the USA and Canada he led a memorial service for victims of the Ukrainian famine-genocide.
