Польща.jpgBishops of Poland call to support Ukraine both spiritually and materially. Ukrainian issues were discussed at the plenary session of the Polish Bishops' Conference.

The bishops urged Catholic parishes in Poland to establish direct contact with parishes in Ukraine to help them, the bishops also established the All-Poland Day of Prayer for Peace in Ukraine.

This is stated in the notice of the Episcopate of Poland.

“Being concerned about the situation on our eastern border, the bishops appeal to pray for our brothers Ukrainians and help them. Remember, when we were fighting for freedom, Europe helped us. Today, helping Ukraine, we are able to pay the debtat least partially. Caritas Poland and Assistance Team to the Church in the East have already provided aid to the needy in Ukraine. Anyone may join this assistance. So we turn to the Polish parishes to establish direct contact with parishes in Ukraine: Roman and Greek Catholic ones,” goes the message.

In addition, the Polish Episcopate determined the 5th Sunday of Lent, March 22, as the All-Polish Day of Prayer for Peace in Ukraine.

Polish bishops were told about the situation in Ukraine by bishops who came from Ukraine: auxiliary bishop of Kamyanets-Podilsk diocese RadoslavZmitrovich and Kharkiv Exarch of UGCC Bishop Vasyl Tuchapets, according to CREDO.
