Locum Tenens of the UOC-MP condemned guilty of plane crash: no one will escape judgment of God

Locum Tenens of the Kyiv Metropolis Throne, Metropolitan Onufriy of Chernivtsi and Bukovina extended his condolences to the families and beloved ones of the those who died in Malaysian Airlines plane downed by the terrorists. Nearly three hundred passengers and crew members of different nationalities died as a result of the tragedy.

“This is a terrible event. The victims were innocent men, women and children from different countries. The Ukrainian Orthodox Church condemns those forces who are perpetrators of this crime and recalls that no one can escape the judgment of God. The plenitude of the Church sympathizes in prayer with the families of the victims. May the Divine Creator of the world comfort the hearts and strengthen the forces of relatives of those who died in this horrible accident”, said Locum Tenens in his address.

Metropolitan Onufry also said: “The Ukrainian Orthodox Church urges all who illegally took up arms, to stop military confrontation and take real steps towards a peaceful settlement of the conflict”, according to the press service of the Ukrainian Orthodox Church – Moscow  Patriarchate.
