The Government of Ukraine is prepared to include in the Labor Code a new law prohibiting discrimination of gays.

h990-0.jpgThe Government of Ukraine is prepared to include in the Labor Code a new law prohibiting discrimination of gays, the Minister of the Foreign Affairs of Ukraine Leonid Kozhara said in an interview to the Polish Gazeta Wyborcza, reported Glavcom.ua. He noted that it is one of the conditions of the EU to cancel the visa system.

In the minister’s opinion, the Russian example, where the State Duma is working on a legal substantiation of “the prohibition of propaganda of homosexuality,” can negatively influence the process of adopting the law. “Neither will the Orthodox Church in Ukraine help in this question,” said Mr. Kozhara.

“However, if a similar law was passed despite a strong resistance in Moldova and in Poland once, despite a strong influence of Catholicism, I think it can be done in Ukraine as well,” stated the minister.
