KYIV – President of Ukraine Viktor Yanukovych promises that by Victory Day he will cancel decrees naming Stepan Bandera and Roman Shukhevych Heroes of Ukraine.

According to an UNIAN correspondent, Yanukovych said this at a news conference with Russian President Dmitry Medvedev in the Kremlin.

AS RISU reported earlier, Russian Jews opposed the decision of the previous President of Ukraine Yushchenko to grant the leader of the Organization of Ukrainian Nationalists, Stepan Bandera, the title of Hero of Ukraine.
