Metropolitan Onufriy tells patriarch Kirill how he appeals to Ukrainian and Russian authorities for peace

On May 24, the commemoration of Saints Cyril and Methodius and the birthday of Patriarch of Moscow and All Russia Kirill, Metropolitan Onufriy of Kyiv and All Ukraine visited Moscow, reports Religion in Ukraine, referring to the website of the UOC Kyiv Metropolis.

Primate of the Russian Orthodox Church celebrated the Divine Liturgy in the Cathedral of Christ the Savior in Moscow.

Head of the UOC concelebrated the ROC patriarch. At the end of the liturgy there was a prayer service that included a birthday prayer of thanksgiving.

Metropolitan Onufriy said greetings on behalf of the Holy Synod of the Russian Orthodox Church. “I personally want to thank Your Holiness for participation and sympathy that you show to us, your faithful children, bearing our obedience in the Ukrainian land,” said His Eminence Onufriy. “ The Ukrainian Orthodox Church, which is part of the Moscow Patriarchate, actively serves God and its people, and we continually lift up prayers for peace on our land. We raise a bold voice to Ukrainian and Russian authorities to do everything possible  and make every efforts that blessed peace established on our land. God save you, Your Holiness, for your prayers and for your involvement in our trials. May God help you in your cross-bearing.”
