Negotiator Yuriy Tandit, Adviser to the Head of the Security Service of Ukraine and Head of the Centre for release of hostages, was reported as saying this by Ukrinform.

“We will fight for him (Kozlovskyy- Ed.). We were hoping that he would be among those we released recently, including Yuriy Suprun, who was also a man having no relation to the ATO. Petro Poroshenko has given an assignment to Vasyl Hrytsak, therefore for us Kozlovsky, as well as other hostages, is a priority. He is put on the list of 47 hostages, approved by the ORLO and the ORDO (occupied regions of Luhansk and Donetsk oblasts, respectively). Unfortunately, others are not recorded among 109, and if we subtract 47, then there are still 62, although we insist that we know the location of 57 more people ... we hope that when our group of hostages is released, he will be among them,” Tandit said.

He also said that earlier in Minsk the negotiators from ORDLO confirmed Kozlovsky’s location.

“Our delegation and I got a confirmation at the last meeting in Minsk. In recent months, fortunately, only a small number of people became hostages,” Tandit said.

According to him, the scholar is an official hostage among 109 people whose location is known to SSU.

“Igor Kozlovskyy, a scholar, a rather elderly man, was accused under the criminal code of 1961, of the possession of weapons, which is complete nonsense,” Tandit said.
