Military chaplain disappeared 30 kilometers from Donetsk

In the area of counter-terrorist operation in the Donbas disappeared military chaplain Fr Igor Petrenko.

February 14, 2015 on the road Mariupol-Donetsk in 30 kilometers from Donetsk around 15:00 the priest of the Ukrainian Orthodox Church of Kyiv Patriarchate from Kherson (south of Ukraine) chaplain Igor Petrenko, who went to visit (hear Confessions and give Holy Communion) Ukrainian soldiers on the front line disappeared. The priest was with volunteer from Kherson Vadym, and they were carrying humanitarian aid for the military. Currently fate of chaplain and volunteer is unknown. Presumably they were captured by mercenaries.

According to locals they have seen similar car near one of the checkpoint of the so called Donetsk People’s Republic and heard of brutal beating of two unarmed people on that day at this checkpoint.
