The head of the Ternopil regional organization of the All-Ukrainian Association "Svoboda", Oleh Syrotiuk, told Gazeta.ua that the Moscow Patriarchate is asking for more territory for the Pochayiv Monastery.

The full list is not available to them; however, they state that it is about a large building of the Kremenets Museum Regional Studies.

"According to our information, a special committee of the regional administration is already functioning and has already begun to study how to get around the regional council and to transfer the buildings and the land," said Syrotiuk.

At the next session of the regional council, Svoboda adherents will initiate a resolution to prohibit the transfer of any property of the region to representatives of the Moscow Patriarchate.

Five months ago, the regional council of Ternopil addressed the Cabinet of Ministers with a request to transfer the Pochayiv Monastery to state ownership from the rent of the Moscow Patriarchate.

"No response at all was received either from Tymoshenko or Azarov. We will approach the Public Prosecutor's Office with a complaint that the government violates the law on addresses of citizens," noted the representative of Svoboda.
