In August 2011, the editorial staff of RISU asked their readers the following question: Do you feel free in independent Ukraine? Of the respondents, 36.5% (the largest number) answered “yes, entirely,” while 15.9% answered “perhaps, yes.” Thus over 52% of the respondents called themselves spiritually free.

Of the respondents, 37.8% (21.2% “not really” and 16.6% “not at all”) called themselves not free spiritually, while 6.3% were not sure how to answer.

Only 1% of those who participated in the poll did not think about it and 2.5% of the respondents do not care about their spiritual freedom.

The poll was conducted on the occasion of the 20th anniversary of Ukraine’s independence. RISU qusetioned 1,182 people.
