PREWIEW9.gif-5.gifRussia will play an ‘Orthodox card’ in the ‘new Russian Spring.’ In particular, the Kremlin plans to organize interfaith provocations to discredit Ukraine. Therefore, there is a strong likelihood that soon the UOC (MP) will deliver a number of initiatives that could provoke patriotic environment for action against the Moscow Patriarchate. Besides, on 18-19 March 2015 delegation of the World Council of Churches is to come to Kyiv.

It was reported by MP Andriy Levus, according Media Ukraine.

It has been stressed that the Kremlin’s technology of the division of Ukraine envisages numerous conflicts in all public matters, including religious, national, political, social issues. According to MP, the purpose of this “new Russian spring” is to destroy Ukraine as an integrate state.

In addition, according to Levus, the Kremlin expects seizure of churches and monasteries of the UOC (MP) in order to blame Ukraine of persecuting the Orthodox.

He also stressed that the information environment has already been warmed up, ‘religious hot points’ can be Kyiv-Pechersk Lavra, Pochayiv Laura and Volyn, as the Russian Federation wants to see such pictures as burned churches, slain priests.

Chief of Administrative Office of the UOC (MP) Archbishop Anthony (Pakanych) says that attempts of ‘unlawful forceful seizure’ of the parishes of the UOC (MP) continually occur in Kyiv, Lviv, Ternopil, Volyn, Rivne and Cherkasy.

“The information on the likely transmission of Crimean dioceses of the UOC (MP) to the ROC is also a sign of warming up of the situation and is, perhaps, the start of the project. Details of probable scenario have already been passed to Ukrainian security services,” Levus summed up.

Earlier, it was reported that the militants of Donetsk and Luhansk People’ Republics released information that new anti-Ukrainian rallies are being prepared in Russia.
