Third rotation of UOC-KP military clergy took place in ATO zone
On October 2, the third rotation of military priestswas held. Following the fruitful academic schedule, the third rotation of military priests of the Kyiv Patriarchate has departed to the ATO zone.
According to the press service of the Kyiv Patriarchate, allpreparation stageswere carried out in close cooperation with the General Staff of Ukraine and the Ministry of Defense of Ukraine.
As a result, military priests were distributed based on the needs of military personnel into 4 groups according to the number of ATO sectors. Every priest of a group is assigned to the military unit located in relevant ATO sector.
Before departure all military priests received the relevant documents from the Synodal Department for military clergy and the General Staff to enter the zone of combat actions. With the blessing of Patriarch Filaretof Kyiv and All Rus-Ukraine, each military priest was purchased a camouflage, winter reefing jacket, boots, chevrons and tactical belt.
In the morning before the departure of military priests, Chairman of the Synodal control of the military clergy Metropolitan Ioann (Yaremenko), First Deputy Head of administration of the military clergy archpriest TarasMelnyk and archpriest IoannMykhailyshynserved a prayer of invocation to the Holy Spirit. By tradition, the priests sang the hymn of Ukraine.
On October 2, at 22:00, the first group of military priests who performed their pastoral duty in the ATO zone for 30 daysreturned from the second rotation.
