Pope Francis has expressed concern about the Greek debt crisis, his spokesman told reporters, Catholic Culture informs.

Father Federico Lombardi, the director of the Vatican press office, said that the Pontiff wanted to express his sympathy for the people of Greece, and to say that any solution should be based on the dignity of the human person.

"The news from Greece regarding the economic and social situation of the country is worrying," Father Lombardi said. He relayed the Pope’s wish that the faithful would prayer for the good of the Greek people.
