Protosyncellus of Crimea Exarchate made a visitation of parishes in Crimea

From 27 January to 6 February 2017, Dr. Andriy Tanasiichuk, protosyncellus of Odesa and Crimea Exarchate visited the parishes of the Crimean exarchate jointly with the local clergymen.

From 27 January to 6 February 2017, Dr. Andriy Tanasiichuk, protosyncellus of Odesa and Crimea Exarchate visited the parishes of the Crimean exarchate jointly with the local clergymen.


During these days the priest visited the communities in Sevastopol, Yalta, Simferopol, Yalta, Kerch and prayed together with parishioners. Apart from worship, he met with the faithful in which the father conveyed greetings from His Beatitude Sviatoslav, Father and Head of the Church, and Bishop Mykhail (Bubniy), Exarch of Odesa and Administrator of Crimea Exarchate.

The priest and the faithful of each parish had a constructive dialogue, during which the next steps of church structures on the Crimean peninsula were reported. Parishioners were able to ask Fr. Andriy some questions and asked him to convey the invitation to all the clergy, consecrated persons and seminarians to come to visit them and to perform worship.

On February 2, the day of consecrated persons in the Gregorian calendar, a joint prayer meeting of clergy and monks of the Latin and Eastern traditions who perform their ministry in Crimea. The Holy Mass was led by Bishop Jacek (Pyl), auxiliary bishop of the Roman Catholic Diocese of Odessa-Simferopol, and a sermon was delivered by Fr Andriy Tanasiichuk. After the service, there was a joint meeting during which each participant described the way of his own vocation to the priesthood or monasticism and the shared experience of pastoral work.

During his stay in Crimea Fr Andriy Tanasiichuk was accompanied by: Fr. Bogdan Kostecki, dean and delegate of Crimea and Frs Oleksiy Horobets-Dolmatov OSBM and Hryhoroy Palyha C.Ss.R.
