Patriarch Sviatoslav Shevchuk to visit Australia
Patriarch Sviatoslav Shevchuk, Head and Father of the Ukrainian Catholic Church, confirmed that he will visit the Australian Eparchy in September 2014. Confirmation letter Bishop Peter Stasiuk received on the 15th of April, 2014.
Bishop Peter has responded to the letter, stating his joy and excitement at the news. He further added: “Our preparations are well underway. We already have put in place a committee and preliminary plans. The faithful of the Eparchy will welcome their Patriarch with great enthusiasm.” Bishop Peter added that His Beatitude will visit most of our parishes as well as various religious and government leaders in Australia!
The preparation committee is calling on all faithful to prepare for this visit so that the Patriarch’s visit to the Australian Eparchy could be a source of growth, hope and inspiration for our church.
