Ukrainian Catholic University Recognized as Best Social Investment in Lviv Region

During the second International Investments and Innovations Forum, which took place in Lviv on July 6, the winners of the Investor of the Year 2012 competition were awarded. The winner of the category of Best Social Investment was the Ukrainian Catholic University (UCU).

Despite the fact that UCU has 900 students and 600 audit students enrolled in various courses, the university has been able to implement a variety of social and educational projects, which were noted by the event organizers. These include the opening of the Professional Master's Program in Innovation and Entrepreneurship, Master's Program in Journalism, Certificate Program "In the Service of Life," and the Certificate Program in Conflict Studies and Management, as well as the School of Ukrainian Language and Culture, which every summer brings together foreigners from around the world to study the Ukrainian language and traditions. The most significant event was the opening of the Patriarch Josyf Slipyj Residential College.

According to Vice Rector Fr. Dr. Bohdan Prakh, this award is recognition that social and educational projects implemented by UCU are important for Ukraine. Thus launching new programs is a kind of investment in the future.

The organizers of the competition were the ​​Lviv Chamber of Commerce and the Lviv Regional State Administration, the Ukrainian Catholic University press service reports.
